Los Angeles, CA?August 12, 2013?The Hollywood Reporter?s Key Art Awards, the entertainment industry?s most recognized awards competition for advertising and communications, is proud to announce that POW! Entertainment Founder and Chief Creative Officer, Stan Lee, and Academy Award winning film composer Hans Zimmer will be named this year?s Honorary Key Art Award recipients. The awards will be presented to Lee and Zimmer at the 2013 Key Art Awards ceremony in Los Angeles on October 24.

?With legendary careers that have earned both men name recognition far beyond the entertainment industry, Stan Lee and Hans Zimmer have continued to push the boundaries of creativity in entertainment,? says Janice Min, editorial director, The Hollywood Reporter. ?We are thrilled to present Zimmer and Lee with this year?s Honorary Key Art Awards.?

The Honorary Key Art Award, introduced in 2012, is given to a member of the industry who, over the span of a career, has influenced the entertainment business worldwide through extraordinary creativity in advertising and marketing.

Stan Lee, a legend in the comic book industry, has co-created hundreds of superheroes including Spider-Man?, The Avengers ?, X-Men?, Iron Man?, The Incredible Hulk? and The Fantastic Four?. Besides his world-renowned work at Marvel, where he remains chairman emeritus, Lee has helped create feature film scripts includingAnnihilator, with Magic Storm Entertainment, and Prodigal. Lee has also helped create an Indian superhero franchise, and has numerous other projects in various stages of development at POW! Entertainment.

?It?s incredibly humbling to be recognized by The Hollywood Reporter and to be given the Key Art Award for my work over the years,? says Lee. ?As a writer and creator there is nothing more rewarding then seeing your life?s work impact and inspire such a large group of people.?

Hans Zimmer is considered by many to be one of the greatest composers of our time and has been awarded the Best Original Score Academy Award for The Lion King in 1994, as well as two Golden Globes and four Grammys. His work spans the course of over 100 films, including such memorable hits as Rain Man, Driving Miss Daisy, As Good As It Gets, The Pirates of the Caribbean, Gladiator, The Dark Night Rises and Man of Steel.

?I am honored to receive this recognition from the Key Arts Awards,? said Zimmer. ?I have had the opportunity to collaborate and be inspired by so many talented artists across the entertainment industry, and I am very grateful to join in this celebration of creativity.?

The 2012 inaugural Honorary Key Art Award winner was photographer Frank W. Ockenfels 3. Chosen for his brilliant works of imagery in movies posters, musicians photo shoots and albums, and TV spots.

The Hollywood Reporter?s Key Art Awards serves as an emblem for the entertainment industry?s advertising and communications fields. The Key Art Awards, which is managed by the CLIO Awards team, has renewed its original commitment to celebrate and reward creative excellence and its impact on modern culture.
