Goa : India has developed an eco-friendly technology to treat sea water brought in by cargo ships into our domain, bringing along with it alien organisms and may be even radioactive elements that harm the marine ecosystem or can have even bigger consequences.
Ballast water, as the sea water brought in by the ships is called, is sea water admitted into tanks at the bottom of the ship to stabilise it for the high seas. Read more
