Tip 84: Measure the results from your networking activities

Jul 1, 2011

A powerful networking strategy will always contain a mixture of ways to meet new people. As networking results are not a linear cause and effect relationship, not every group, event or forum will yield results you require. Over time you will find out that some groups, events and relationships have a better rate of return; potential A-listers will turn out to be C-listers, whereas a C-lister may turn out to be a useful B-lister or A-lister.

To make sure that you are investing your time in networking wisely, experiment with new groups and events, but regularly measure your results and progress so that you can see where or with whom to spend more time or less time to generate better results.

When you measure your results you can then fine tune how much networking time you need to spend monthly, to generate the level of results you require.
