Washington, D.C. weather forecast: Hot and humid Labor Day, cold front on the way

Expect a few showers and thunderstorms Monday as a cold front approaches from the north. Highs will be near 90 degrees.

A few showers and thunderstorms will linger during the overnight hours. Some thunderstorms may contain brief heavy downpours and gusty winds. Temperatures will settle in the? 70s.

Hot and humid conditions will prevail again tomorrow. Temperatures will quickly jump into the 80s and flirt with the 90 degree mark. Clouds will increase a bit during the afternoon hours and chances for showers and thunderstorms will increase. A cold front will pass late Monday and into Tuesday bringing some relief for the start of the shortened work and school week.
