Micro-blogging site Twitter has announced the launch of a beta testing program on Google mobile platform Android.
Launched through Google's Play app marketplace, the "Twitter for Android Experiment Program" aims to help the company enhance its service on Android as well as to expand the reach of the service.
Twitter stated that the program's main goal is to "help us improve Twitter for Android and make it more accessible to people around the world, across a range of Android devices."
The company has already started registering sign-ups for the beta testing program that will let all registered users to try out the newest, unreleased builds of Twitter app for Android.
Participants will be sent out notifications by the company about updates for the app. This will let them know when new builds are ready, and when the new build will replace the existing Twitter app for Android.
What is more striking here is that Android beta testers will be able to play around with Twitter app's new features even before the company launches them publicly.
Twitter, which was launched in 2006, has nearly 200 million active users worldwide.
