Alpha Reclaim Technology LLC has inked a deal with an Eagle Ford Shale operator to supply treated wastewater.
Bryan-based Alpha Reclaim Technology LLC has negotiated an agreement to supply a major Eagle Ford exploration and production company with water for multiple drilling sites, company officials say.
?It?s a deal that should save thousands of gallons of fresh water from the area?s aquifers,? says Jeremy Osborne, Alpha?s vice president and general counsel.
Osborne declined to identify the new customer, but said the deal is one of Alpha?s largest water-supply contracts.
Alpha, formed in 2010, secures agreements with municipalities to sell water discharged from their treatment plants to companies needing nonpotable water for hydraulic fracturing and drilling in oil fields.
The company has agreements with more than two dozen partner municipalities, including Laredo, Floresville and Beeville. It has access to more than 21 million gallons of water daily across the state.
Alpha?s central storage facility, developed in partnership with Houston?s BNN Energy LLC, is located in Karnes City, one of the most active parts of the Eagle Ford Shale.
