If I don?t mind saying so myself, OLBG is blessed with a fantastic crop of knowledge when it comes to the NFL. To those in the know the forum is always filled with highly in-depth, detailed and informed discussion and analysis on all things NFL. Add to that the insightful blogs written, OLBG really is right up there with the best when it comes to NFL nowse. It?s not just knowledge either: many regularly turn a profit when it comes to betting across the NFL games.

In homage to that and following on from an idea I had last week, let me introduce you to the first of a weekly blog devoted to the weekends NFL action. Now many will know I already post a fairly lengthy weekly blog about the games across the NFL on most weeks, but this is going to be different: it?s going to be a collaborative. I?ve harnessed some of the best minds on OLBG and they have agreed to sign up for a weekly blog that will give EVERYONES opinion in one swoop. If you can imagine an ESPN style NFL PREVIEW show on the TV where the desk is filled with NFL pundits all giving their opinion on who will do what then this is OLBG?s version ? in writing! (That would be a great idea NORS/ANT by the way! ? videos are coming!)

So what we have is a group of us who will contribute to this blog each week and comment on EVERY NFL game that week. They?ll say who they think will win the game and give a quick line to support their argument; to the point with the odd drop of humour thrown in! It?s not going to be chapter and verse, but what you will have is all of our best NFL tipsters altogether in one place forming a collective of who they believe will win in each match up!

Over the weeks the cumulative win/loss records of all the tipsters will be on show to see if we can put our/your money where our mouth is!

So, without further ado the opening gambit is in. Here?s our 1st breakdown of all the weekend match-ups across week 5!

?

?

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (4-0) @ CINCINATTI BENGALS (2-2)

CONSENSUS: 6-1 PATRIOTS

?

CHIPMONKADIDOODA: You should fear the Patriots because they?re winning whilst getting back to fitness. Bengals need win, but Pats squeak a close one.

?

DECO121: Tough call but I think Brady and co grind out another close one. Bengals were very poor offensively in Cleveland and home advantage not enough against a Pats D who have been getting it done this year.?

?

LAZARUS76: The Brady Bunch, the players may change but the story is always the same, Patriots win.?

?

EBOOKCONVERTER: Pats are 4-0 despite looking far from good. Says more about who they've played so far than how good they are. Against the so-so Bengals Pats may scrape another win.?

?

SMOGGYFEVER: The Patriots flew into a lead at Atlanta, before doing everything they could to throw it away. The Bengals defence doesn't let teams get big leads. Cinci win.?

?

WILDBILLSGHOST: Brady and his rookie band of receivers are only going to get better as the season goes on and the Bengals looking very over-rated - away win.?

?

GRONNICEGUY: Dalton can throw 5 TD?s but also good for 4 interceptions in a game. Patriots charging fast and starting to gel. Dogs again to win, this time by 6.

?

?

DETROIT LIONS (3-1) @ GREEN BAY PACKERS (1-2)

CONSENSUS: 6-1 PACKERS

?

CHIPMONKADIDOODA: Lions score big every week and I tipped them to beat the Bears last week. Packers score bigger at home though and Detroit never win in Green Bay. Pack have to win to stay alive.

?

DECO121: Shootout but the Packers get the call at home after a bye week rest.?

?

LAZARUS76: Expect to see a shootout in this divisional clash but can see Rodgers and the Packers victorious.?

?

EBOOKCONVERTER: Get ready for some explosive division action! Lions are roaring but Packers best comes at home. 26 TD's so far for these two. Can Lions be contenders this year? I say yes!?

?

SMOGGYFEVER: Fresh off a bye and facing a secondary leaking points like a sieve, Rodgers will have a field day against Detroit.?

?

WILDBILLSGHOST: They really needed that bye week but are the Packers fit enough to halt a rampaging Lions - yes, just.?

?

GRONNICEGUY: Tough game to call, but at Lambeau field the Packers might knick it by 3 or 4 points if Nelson can catch a few.?

?

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (4-0) @ INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (3-1)

CONSENSUS: 5-2 COLTS

?

CHIPMONKADIDOODA: Seattle are not the same on the road. They should have lost last week. Texans have set up Luck for another movie script inspired final 2 minute offence scoring drive at home at the last.

?

DECO121: Squeezed past Carolina in week 2 and Houston - er, Schaub - blew their chance to hand Seattle their first defeat of the season last week but a second straight 10am (PDT) road game for the Seahawks against a red hot Colts side will be too much I feel.?

?

LAZARUS76: The Colts have already turned over one of the Seahawks rivals (49ers) and I can see Luck and Co doing it again.?

?

EBOOKCONVERTER: Seattle 4-0 for the first time ever and looking one of the better teams this year and this'll be tight. Defence can win the day. Seahawks for 5-0!?

?

SMOGGYFEVER: Dog Alert! The Seahawks have faced serious scares at Carolina and Houston and these long road trips are taking their toll.?

?

WILDBILLSGHOST: The Colts have played only one really good game so far so are they over-rated? We will know more after this week, until we find out for sure stick with Seattle.?

?

GRONNICEGUY: Luck is on fire even though he does not have the best numbers. Seahawks are fighters, but Colts could spring an upset here as dogs. Colts by 4?

?

BALTIMORE RAVENS (2-2) @ MIAMI DOLPHINS (3-1)

CONSENSUS: 7-0 DOLPHINS

?

CHIPMONKADIDOODA: Two teams coming off bad offensive performances last week. Baltimore 0-2 on the road. Pinsticker game this as Dolphins coming off a short week. Pass happy Ravens last week (50 passes 9 rushes). More balance but still lose?just.

?

DECO121: Dolphins are better than that Monday night performance and if the Ravens won't run it again then Miami will find it even easier. Can't trust Flacco's arm alone.?

?

LAZARUS76: Dolphins have made a fine start to the season and the Ravens aren?t the same team on the road, home win.?

?

EBOOKCONVERTER: Champs the Ravens look vulnerable. If they can't get past the Bills how can they be taken with confidence? Dolphins improved this year. Miami for the win.?

?

SMOGGYFEVER: Urgh, two teams off shocking performances, Flacco with 5 INT's and Miami off a beat down in New Orleans. Miami win this 6-3?

?

WILDBILLSGHOST: I was just starting to like the Fish and then Monday night happened - they still beat Ravens in Miami though.?

?

GRONNICEGUY: Can?t like the Dolphins, but Ravens are abysmal without a QB of name and with a revamped defence. Dolphins in 4th ot??

?

?

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (4-0) @ CHICAGO BEARS (3-1)

CONSENSUS: 5-2 SAINTS

?

CHIPMONKADIDOODA: Any prediction here is based on the weather. Saints out of the indoor heated bliss into Chicago coming up to winter? Saints hot right now though. Bears 3-1 with a defence ranked 25th? Don?t get it. Saints win because they have the better quarterback, but check the weather!

?

DECO121: Saints are gaining momentum quickly and although it's tough to win at Soldier Field I like Brees and co here against the wounded Bears.?

?

LAZARUS76: Two high-powered offences but the Bears ?D? is stronger, Bears to nick it in a thriller.?

?

EBOOKCONVERTER: Saints 4-0 and getting better by the week. Tough one for the Bears who lost for the first time last week. This'll be really tight but Saints can sneak it.?

?

SMOGGYFEVER: The Saints next big test, but after Detroit piled 40+ points on Chi-town, Brees should keep the rhythm going.?

?

WILDBILLSGHOST: Saints are playing great - in New Orleans, not so sure on the road though, take the Bears in a good one.?

?

GRONNICEGUY: The Bears are favourites here, but with Brees and Graham the perfect tandem they could win it especially if Pierre Thomas does his job from the backfield giving them more options with Sproles.?

?

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (1-3) @ NEW YORKS GIANTS (0-4)

CONSENSUS: 5-2 EAGLES

?

CHIPMONKADIDOODA: Have we all re-assessed the Eagles after THAT week 1 performance? Manning just HAS to make a statement sometime. Can?t believe a Giants D can be so bad so long. Finally a win for the Meadowland to treasure because it?s a rivalry.

?

DECO121: Where's that coin??? Giants? offense comes out of this one looking much better against Eagles secondary for sure but how will they cope on the other end?? Eagles sneak a shootout.

?

LAZARUS76: Very much old (Coughlin) vs. new (Kelly) and I expect the new high octane Eagles to run out victors in this divisional clash.?

?

EBOOKCONVERTER: Rather not cover this one at all! Eagles in disarray. Giants in freefall. May the best of the worst win. Toss a coin... it says Eagles!?

?

SMOGGYFEVER: The Giants are done, and Chip Kelly will bring the heat on the already-crumbling O-line. Manning will not be excited.?

?

WILDBILLSGHOST: A combined 1-7, so who knows? The Eagles do have a good record in New Jersey so they are the pick, with no real confidence.?

?

GRONNICEGUY: Giants favoured after two drubbings. That says how bad the Eagles are. Manning at home, MUST perform? Giants by 7?

?

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (4-0) @ TENEESSEE TITANS (3-1)

CONSENSUS: 6-1 CHIEFS

?

CHIPMONKADIDOODA: Two top defences on show. Chiefs doing this year what they were supposed to do last year. Titans without Locker is the difference here.

?

DECO121: Locker's absence not a huge swing here as the Chiefs just keep impressing on both sides of the ball. I like the?Titans?D but Jamaal Charles gets it done.?

?

LAZARUS76: Two surprise packages of the season so far, the Chiefs have impressed me and 5-0 is just around the corner.?

?

EBOOKCONVERTER: KC going toe-to-toe with Broncos at 4-0 in AFC West. Defence the key for the Chiefs and with Jake Locker injured for the?Titans?that'll swing it their way.?

?

SMOGGYFEVER: Jake Locker in hospital after an 18-24, 149 yards, 3 TD effort, Alex Smith revitalising a franchise with Andy Reid, road win for me.?

?

WILDBILLSGHOST: In contrast these two are a combined 7-1, a surprise to some maybe. Tennessee lose Locker but can still win this, just.?Titans.

?

GRONNICEGUY: Chiefs finally with a good QB. Charles still important for team.?Titans have much of nothing and Chiefs by 1?

?

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (0-4) @ ST LOUIS RAMS (1-3)

CONSENSUS: 6-1 RAMS

?

CHIPMONKADIDOODA: Jags making everyone look like playoff contenders. They?re an upset team in a few weeks, but not this one even against a poor Rams team.

?

DECO121: What? Jags??? On the road????? Yep. Rams were absolutely awful last two weeks and the Jags now have a third offensive weapon with Justin Blackmon back so it's not gonna be as straightforward to stop them anymore I feel. Big price and I'm a believer!!?

?

LAZARUS76: Looks like it?s the Rams turn to run up the scoreboard on the worst team in the NFL.?

?

EBOOKCONVERTER: Are you a Jags fan? Got any hair left? Well get ready for baldness this week! St Louis to Ram it home.?

?

SMOGGYFEVER: Jacksonville.........nuff said?

?

WILDBILLSGHOST: If they get thrashed here next weeks spread could be 30 points for the Jags. Rams win, no doubt about it.?

?

GRONNICEGUY: Can a game finish 0-0? This could be the one. Rams favourite by too many as they can run the ball. Rams by 3?

?

CAROLINA PANTHERS (1-2) @ ARIZONA CARDINALS (2-2)

CONSENSUS: 4-3 CARDINALS

?

CHIPMONKADIDOODA: Panthers front seven are savage and they?ve had a week off to prep for this. Expect Newton to throw often here in a close road win.

?

DECO121: Ponder couldn't get it done for 95% of the game against the Bucs last week. Panthers will punish him more even on the road coming off their bye week.?

?

LAZARUS76: Tricky one to call but Cam Newton is a class act, Panthers win just.?

?

EBOOKCONVERTER: Not much to split these two. Emphatic big win over horrible Giants is all that gives Panthers reasonable stats. Home advantage to prevail for the Cards.?

?

SMOGGYFEVER: Early vacation for the Panthers, playing a mean Arizona defence that shut down Tampa and allowed just 10 points on home soil.?

?

WILDBILLSGHOST: Another tough game to call, I will go with the Cardinals simply because they are at home.?

?

GRONNICEGUY: Cards could be slowly getting back to some form. Panthers have Cam Newton, but need a running game. Still Panthers by 8?

?

DENVER BRONCOS (4-0) @ DALLAS COWBOYS (2-2)

CONSENSUS: 7-0 BRONCOS

?

CHIPMONKADIDOODA: Manning against a Tampa 2 offence in a glorious setting. Cowboys faithful will get to see what a proper Quarterback plays like in the Cowboys stadium. Plenty of points again. Broncos looking like 16-0 already.

?

DECO121: Cowboys put up a good fight but Manning wins another shootout.?

?

LAZARUS76: Manning and the Broncos are on fire, Superbowl favourites to win again.?

?

EBOOKCONVERTER: Wow... Manning and the #1 offence come to Dallas. This could be a blow-out of epic proportions. Huge test for the Cowboys who need to somehow stop the Broncos. Might not be enough.?

?

SMOGGYFEVER: The Cowboys demonstrated they're the Cowboys again after giving up a 21-10 lead last week, Denver are fresh off scoring 52 points against Philly.?

?

WILDBILLSGHOST: Ride those bucking Broncos until the saddle starts to slip (probably in the post season).?

?

GRONNICEGUY: Manning vs Romo. Manning more stable and Romo still jittery. Line is too big though at Dallas? 44-39 Denver???

?

HOUSTON TEXANS (2-2) @ SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (2-2)

CONSENSUS: 6-1 SF 49ERS

?

CHIPMONKADIDOODA: Extra rest for the 49ers and they?re better than 2-2. Texans can?t close out games and it?ll cost them again here. Texans need a better QB to be truly Superbowl ready. Home win.

?

DECO121: Tough one as both teams still have plenty of questions to answer but I'm giving it to the 9ers at home.?

?

LAZARUS76: Don?t expect there to be much in this one, 49ers just to edge it.?

?

EBOOKCONVERTER: Houston, we have a problem... but wait... it's the sad 49ers. Fans were burning Texan flags last week. This week they might just be buying more.?

?

SMOGGYFEVER: Texans struggling for form here, as they blew a 14 point lead over Seattle, while the 9ers picked up with an impressive display in St Louis?

?

WILDBILLSGHOST: Houston dominated the Seahawks last week and still couldn?t win and I don?t think they win in San Fran either.?

?

GRONNICEGUY: San Fran heavily favourites. Johnson fit for Texans? They need him. Schaub needs to prove he is there for a while. Texans lose by 3 in OT.?

?

SAN DIEGO CHARGERS (2-2) @ OAKLAND RAIDERS (1-3)

CONSENSUS: 6-0 CHARGERS (1 WIMPED OUT!)

?

CHIPMONKADIDOODA: This could depend on whether Terelle Pryor plays, but Rivers has turned back the clock?finally! Chargers win against a poor Raiders secondary

?

DECO121: Don't say it too loudly but Phillip Rivers is playing consistently well so far. Raiders have too much work still to do regardless of whether Pryor is back for this one.?

?

LAZARUS76: The Rivers revival to continue here, Lightning Bolts to strike again.?

?

EBOOKCONVERTER: Chargers not great on the road but perfom better in Conference and division games. Raiders seem to get worse week by week. Chargers for the road win.?

?

SMOGGYFEVER: Philip Rivers, where've you been hiding the past 7 seasons?! The guy is flying, two 400 yard performances, fresh off a whuppin of Dallas, the Raiders will have no answer

?

WILDBILLSGHOST: Chargers have won 8 of the last 9 in Oakland - they win again.?

?

GRONNICEGUY: Ugh game of the week. Don?t want to watch it, don?t want to predict it. 4 suicides during game from boredom.?

?

NEW YORK JETS (2-2) @ ATLANTA FALCONS (1-3)

CONSENSUS: 7-0 FALCONS

?

CHIPMONKADIDOODA: Don?t write off the Jets ?D? making this score more respectable than people might think, but Falcons simply can?t slip up again or they?re toast. Luckily the schedulers have done them a favour.

?

DECO121: Falcons playing well enough overall but badly need a win. Thankfully the Jets are in town!!

?

LAZARUS76: Injuries have decimated the Falcons but Jets aren?t much cop and just what the Falcons need, Falcons to grab a confidence boost.

?

EBOOKCONVERTER: Jets were laughable last week and look badly organised. Falcons 1-3 despite playing not too bad. Home field to help them get back on track. Big game expected.

?

SMOGGYFEVER: Geno Smith made a 'C'mon Man' appearance this past week, and if the Falcons exert any pressure on him this week, he'll fold like origami.?

?

WILDBILLSGHOST: Atlanta have lost their last two games, both against AFC East teams, they face another one here but this one they win.?

?

GRONNICEGUY: Falcons on Monday night is gold/silver/bronze all in once. Count on 6 td's and 3 interceptions on both sides. 28-24 Falcons

?

There you have it! All tipsters send their predictions without seeing each other?s, so there?s no influence brought into the selections.

?

Good luck and enjoy the weekend?s games!
